New CloudCoin Wallet 2.1.26 available

Consortium developers have posted the latest updates to CloudCoin Wallet.
Version 2.1.26 includes improvements to logic when exporting, allows coin serial numbers to viewed as a list, allows special characters and punctuation to be used in memos, and improves logging of imports.
The latest version can be downloaded here.

First look at P2P CloudCoin exchange

Developers have put together a rough user-interface for the soon-to-be-launched peer-to-peer (P2P) CloudCoin exchange. This interface will be upgraded and improved by artists and graphic designers, but gives a general idea of the look and feel, as well as the functionality.

Five days left to register for to Consortium elections

Wed., Jan. 15 will be the final day to complete the CloudCoin Consortium membership application (and pay biennial dues) in order to take part in elections for three advisory board members. The elections will take place Jan. 18.
All Consortium members in good standing are eligible to seek office and/or to vote in the upcoming election. Elected directors will serve for two years.
Good standing requires completion of a membership application and payment of biennial dues of 1,000 CloudCoins. To receive a membership application, send an email to CloudCoin Membership or apply online.

Do you have what it takes to be a RAIDA Guardian?

RAIDA Guardians operate proxy servers to make RAIDA more reliable and robust, and they can receive 100,000 CloudCoins for participating.
Guardians are a vital part of CloudCoin's global effort to create a perfect monetary system that will increase the freedom and prosperity of everyone, while helping combat authoritarian governments who rely on currency manipulation for their existence.
If you are interested in becoming a Guardian, please sign up here for more information and an invitation to a members-only Telegram group.

Earn CloudCoins & $$$ as a RAIDA Detection Agent

There are still slots remaining for people interested in becoming founding RAIDA Detection Agents.
Operators of these units help make the RAIDA network stronger, faster, and more secure. Operators earn a portion of network traffic revenues, as well as
a bonus paid in CloudCoins. Be advised, however, there are a limited number of special "Founders" opportunities available.
There is also a referral program where you can become a Detection Agent, with zero licensing fees, simply by referring potential operators.
Email for more information about becoming a Detection Agent operator or joining the referral program.

RIP, Peter Kirstein

Peter Kirstein, known as the "Father of the European internet", passed away Jan. 8 in London at age 86.
Kirstein connected the first computer outside the United States to ARPANET in the 1970s, even creating an email account for the Queen of England. He was co-inventor of the Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP), for which he shared the Marconi Prize. He was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in 2012.
Born into a Jewish family in Germany, his family escaped Nazism and settled in England when Kirstein was just four years old. He would later earn degrees from Cambridge, Stanford and University of London.

The legacy of Common Sense

Today is the 243rd anniversary of the publication of Thomas Paine's pamphlet Common Sense in 1776.
The 47-page pamphlet presented a case for independence of the American colonies from British rule. Appearing several months before the Declaration of Independence, Paine's popular pamphlet is considered to have greatly influenced public opinion in the colonies. One historical estimate is that the pamphlet was as widely read in 1776 as the Superbowl is viewed today (that is, by about one in three Americans). John Adams reportedly said that "Without the pen of Paine, the sword of Washington would have been raised in vain."
Paine proved too radical for most of his contemporaries, but remains a hero to supporters of many causes around the globe. The legacy of Common Sense lies not only in the revolutionary sentiments, but in the revolutionary style: Paine penned the work in everyday language, easily understood by the (literate) masses.
Our world today could use more "common sense" when it comes to freeing individuals to exercise their natural rights and to resolving societal problems in a polarized environment.
