CloudCoin Weekly Bulletin 83

Continuous improvements in new software during ongoing testing
The first Alpha version the 'advanced client' software began testing last week, and nine major builds have compiled to incorporate improvements, fixes and expanded functionality (testers are today working on vA10).

Nearly 30 Consortium members are actively involved internally in testing, with plans to bring in external beta testers (thanks to all the readers who volunteered!) in the coming days.

Significant progress has been made on one core protocol, Trusted Transfer, which lets users quickly, securely and anonymously trade coins and is essential to exchanges, merchant applications and gateways to other RAIDA applications beyond CloudCoin. It consists of five different services, three of which are now complete; the remaining two will be field tested next week.

Another major component, the Change Server, is also under development. The Change Server will allow users to convert larger CloudCoin notes into many smaller ones, such as breaking a single 250-coin note into 250 one-coin notes. This is important for CloudCoins for smart contracts and utility tokens.

Artistic refinements are also still in the works on colors, fonts and proportions of the user interface. How-to-videos and guidebooks for the new software are under development.
Other features and new functionality

  • Enhanced UI/UX with similar look and user-experience across platforms (Windows, Android, Mac, etc.).
  • Optimized efficiency that reduces measured CPU usage to 0%
  • A vault to eliminate any possibility of theft
  • Ability to automatically recover coins by email
  • Allowing users to send CloudCoins to each other quickly and safely through Trusted Transfer
  • Easily make change/split notes
  • Support for collectibles, a decentralized exchange and ATM functionality
  • Support for merchant services and game portals
  • Multi-fix functionality that can fix thousands of fracked coins within seconds
  • Multi-language support/localization
Referral Program

A referral program will be part of the launch of the final software version. Plans include incentives for referring friends, for downloading the software and for correctly answering quiz questions about its functions and features. Tens of thousands of CloudCoins will potentially be given away, so stay tuned for more information about how you can join in to spread the word.

Naming Contest

The working title for the software has been "advanced client," but it still doesn't have an official name. Past versions have included Founders Edition & Consumers Edition.

Do you have a suggestion? If your submission is used, we'll award 100 CloudCoins. Send your ideas here .
Earn CloudCoins and $$$ by being a RAIDA Detection Agents
There are only a few slots remaining for people interested in operating RAIDA Detection Agent units.

These units help make the RAIDA network stronger, faster and more secure. Operators earn a portion of network traffic revenues, plus the next 15 to signup receive a special "Founders" bonus paid in CloudCoins.

There is also a referral program where you can become a Detection Agent with zero licensing fee simply by referring potential operators.

Email for more information about becoming a Detection Agent operator or joining the referral program.
Another CloudCoin meetup group started
Proof that the CloudCoin message is reaching everywhere: a meetup was held recently at a Starbucks in the small town of East Wenatchee, Washington, USA, a community of apple-growers and retirees and around 30,000 people.

Organizer and CloudCoin stakeholder "Bill G." said the group plans to meet regularly to discuss CloudCoin and other digital currencies. Their goals include education, getting more members involved, preparing for a potential future economy without central banks or commercial banks and discussing speculation vs. asset accumulation.

Other similar meetups have been held in San Marcos,California and in Dubai, UAE. Will your town be next?
Remember the battle between Beta and VHS?
Today, June 7, marks the 44th anniversary of Sony's introduction of the Betamax video cassette recorder (VCR), and some of our readers may be old enough to remember the decade long battle between Sony's Beta technology and rival Video Home System (VHS).
Sony thought Beta would be the next big thing. But VHS proved to me more efficient, less expensive and consumer just liked it better.

Similarly, blockchain is a major buzzword when it comes to digital currency and and authentication. But blockchain technology is already a decade old. That’s forever in the tech world.

Blockchain has merits, but it is slow, inefficient, environmentally harmful and expensive. Advocates fail to mention that blockchain will be completely obsolete with the advent of quantum computers—which could come any day now.

Blockchain is Beta.

There is a better alternative. It is called RAIDA , the Redundant Array of Independent Detection Agents.
RAIDA solves the problems faced by blockchain and allows for currencies like CloudCoin that are faster, greener, quantum-safe and trillions of times more secure. RAIDA technology can also be applied to a wide range of next-generation, applications for the post-blockchain world.
